In order to comply with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation, Spelthorne Borough Council, Knowle Green, Staines upon Thames, TW18 1XB must provide Independent Living clients, referrers, next of kin and contacts with the following information about the personal data you give to us:
- the Council is the data controller for the data provided and will use the data provided to provide public services to residents of Spelthorne and residents of other District and Boroughs. This data is specifically used to operate services run by Spelthorne Independent Living. Information relevant to specific Independent Living services can be found by contacting the service directly or on the Spelthorne Borough council website
- we will be processing your data under Public Task
- your information may be shared with relevant third parties for emergency planning purposes
- your data may also be used in emergency situations, for example, to pass medical information to the ambulance service, or if there is any concern regarding the welfare of individuals
- for those who join any of the Independent Living Services, your data will also be shared with the body who manage the relevant service required and who provide technical support for the systems on behalf of Spelthorne Borough Council
- for the purposes of processing payments your data will be shared with Spelthorne Borough Council finance. • The information will not be passed on to any other third parties
- the Council will keep your data for a maximum of 6 years after the lapse of any service

You have the following rights:
- you have the right to be informed via Privacy Notices such as this
- you have the right to request access to and to receive a copy of any information we hold about you (including in an electronic format) - to request a copy of this information you must make a subject access request in writing
- if you find that the information SBC holds about you is no longer accurate, you have the right to ask to have this corrected
