Spelthorne Borough Council has processed your personal information to help plan our work in supporting businesses during economic challenges and to continually support you / your business or the business you represent. We will also develop strategies and allocate priorities and resources to respond to the needs of existing businesses as well as residents who wish to set up their own businesses.
In order to comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation, Spelthorne Borough Council must provide you with the following information about the personal data you give to us or we receive via third parties.
We need your personal data such as name, address, contact details, name of business, job title, gender, dietary requirements (for when we meet you face to face at events) and photographs to promote your business. This information may be collected on behalf of the business you represent.
Our purpose is to support you / your business / the business you represent in terms of economic development and business viability. We will use the information to keep you informed of opportunities designed to support your business. The Economic Development team at Spelthorne Borough Council work to increase the economic wellbeing of the borough, and businesses within the borough.
The lawful basis we rely on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller (Spelthorne Borough Council).
When we process your personal data, we may share your information with other departments within Spelthorne Borough Council. This will be to further the economic development strategy and to ensure wider business support from other departments. At times, and with your permission, we may promote you / your business in our bulletins, newsletters, press and social media pages.
If required to share any personal information with other bodies, we share information securely and proportionately and only where necessary.
We will keep your personal information for 6 years after our last contact with you / your business.
