This project is to create a number of growing spaces across the borough and Talking Tree (a local charity) are working with the council on setting up accessible spaces for residents to grow and access free food. This is supported by the Government's Shared Prosperity Fund.
Spelthorne Borough Council will be collecting limited personal details from Talking Tree in order to provide reports to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC).
The council will obtain photographs relating to the project - either from Talking Tree or by taking photos directly.
In order to comply with the Data Protection Act and the UK General Data Protection Regulation, Spelthorne Borough Council must provide you with the following information about the personal data you give to us:
- ·the Council is the data controller for the information we receive,
- the Council will use the data provided by Talking Tree on the project to report as required to the DLUHC,
- the Council will keep your data for a maximum of 7 years after the end of the project,
- the Council have a public task requirement to process the reporting data, and any data from organisations (such as project partners and landowners),
- the Council has a legitimate interest in promoting the projects, this may include publication of information and photos on social media, our website and in the SBC Bulletin. Please note websites and social media platforms can be viewed throughout the world and not just in the United Kingdom, where UK law applies. Each social media will have its own privacy policy, which you can view on their respective websites.

- you may request that Spelthorne Borough Council stops processing your personal data in relation to any council service (this may delay or prevent us delivering a service to you, we will seek to comply with your request but may be required to hold or process information to comply with our legal duties)
