Privacy Notice - My Spelthorne account

Spelthorne Borough Council has processed your personal information to allow you to create a Spelthorne Borough Council My Spelthorne account.

Why does the Council process personal data?

Our purpose is to create an account to allow you to submit pre-populated forms for the specific service that you are enquiring about or contacting.  We will use the information to service your account. You will continue to receive relevant alert emails based on your selections until such a time you wish to unsubscribe.

The lawful basis we rely on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller (Spelthorne Borough Council).

Who does the Council share your personal data with?

When we process your personal data we will share your information with services within the Council and by Astun Technology.

Spelthorne Borough Council sends tailored alert emails to subscribed users, using the iShare solution supplied by Astun Technology. Your personal data, is held by Astun Technology operating in the United Kingdom and in accordance with the company's Privacy Policy https://www.astuntechnology.com/privacy-policy. Spelthorne Borough Council ICT team have password protected access to your personal data held in the system, for the purpose of providing the alert emails.

In certain circumstances where there is a potential for the involvement of fraudulent or unlawful practice, we may need to provide your personal data to other statutory bodies including enforcement agencies, competent authorities, relevant authorities, and Courts of law.

If required to share any personal information with other bodies as mentioned above, we share information securely and proportionately.

How long does the Council keep your data?

We keep your data as long as necessary and until you ask us to unsubscribe by using the Unsubscribe link found at the bottom of each email sent.
