Spelthorne Borough Council will collect your personal details in order to be able to support communities within Spelthorne and to help you as a volunteer.
In order to comply with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation, Spelthorne Borough Council (SBC) must provide you with the following information about your personal data that we have.
- the Council will use the data provided to:
- assist SBC and its partners and stakeholders to provide support and or services to the Spelthorne Community
- help us plan our future work within the Spelthorne Community
- provide support and assistance to volunteers
- the Council will collect your personal data from you and from our partners and stakeholders and will be processing this data under the lawful basis of public task
- your information may be shared within the Council and with partners and stakeholders
- your information may also be shared in emergency situations with relevant organisations, or if there is any concern regarding the welfare of individuals
- the Council will keep your data for a maximum of 7 years after the last contact was made

- you have the right to request access to and to receive a copy of any information we hold about you (including in an electronic format) - to request a copy of this information you must make a subject access request in writing
- if you find that the information Spelthorne Borough Council holds about you is no longer accurate, you have the right to ask to have this corrected
- you have the right - under certain conditions - to ask us to erase your personal data
- you may request that Spelthorne Borough Council stops processing your personal data in relation to any council service (this may delay or prevent us delivering a service to you, we will seek to comply with your request but may be required to hold or process information to comply with our legal duties)
