Spelthorne Borough Council will be collecting your personal data so we are able to investigation the offence that you are reporting.

In order to comply with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation, Spelthorne Borough Council must provide you with the following information about the personal data we hold:

  • the Council will use the data held to fulfil its duty to fully investigate the alleged criminal offence through to prosecution or other disposal including the issue of a fixed penalty notice or written warning letter, this information will be processed under the lawful basis of 'legal obligation'
  • your information may be shared internally within the Council for example Joint Enforcement Team, Legal Department and externally for example HM Court Service, legal bodies, Police and Insurance companies
  • the information will not be passed on to any other third parties, or transferred out of the EU
  • Spelthorne Borough Council is the Data Controller - The data controller is the person (or business) who determines the purposes for which, and the way in which, personal data is processed
  • your data is not subject to automated decision-making
  • the Council will keep your data for 6 years from last the last action documented
