Spelthorne Borough Council ran a survey asking for feedback about the Council's Bulletin magazine from 22 November 2022 - 31 January 2023.
The survey appeared in print in the winter edition of the Bulletin magazine and on the Council's website. Residents could fill out and return the printed survey in the magazine, or complete it online.
The survey was completed by a total of 55 residents. The most responses were received from residents aged 65+, followed by those aged 55-64.
To the question 'how well does the Bulletin magazine keep you informed about the service provided by Spelthorne Borough Council?' 53 respondents said the Bulletin keeps them 'very well' or 'well' informed about the services provided by the Council. Two respondents said the magazine does not keep them well informed.
Among the respondents, the Bulletin magazine was ranked as the most popular way for finding out about the Council and its services, followed by the Council's website.
Community news, rubbish and recycling and local events/leisure opportunities were listed as the topics residents are most interested to read about. Support for local businesses and housing/homelessness were the least popular topics.
19 residents took the opportunity to suggest additional topics they would like to read about for the question 'is there anything else you would like to see in the Bulletin'. The responses can be read on the attached download (see Q4 responses).
To the question 'do you think you would read the Bulletin if it was only available online and not delivered to your home?' 37 respondents said no, 13 were not sure and 5 said yes.
29 respondents answered the question 'do you have any other comments about ways we could improve the magazine?'. The responses can be read on the attached download (see Q6 responses).
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to the survey. Your feedback is extremely helpful and we are trying to incorporate as many of the suggestions as possible over the coming months.
